The songs of Richmond Fontaine carry a strong sense of time and place - making each listen a journey. These guys came and played on Station to Station (the original radio show) back in ’03 and I’ve been a big fan ever since. Their understated style lends a real cinematic feel. Running through the music is a uniquely American vibe; I don’t know if it’s in spite of this vibe or because of it, but they may be even more appreciated (loved, really) in Europe than in the US - and they’re not getting the cold shoulder here, either.
In this first video episode, Willie and the boys gave us an in-studio performance on the cozy stage at Mississippi Studios in North Portland.
Station to Station started out as a Live-performance-on-air radio show in Portland, Oregon. We broadcast from Rocket Science Recording studio during 2003-2005. Now we bring you studio-quality recordings from live venues, record stores and recording studios.
